Our Why

Northern Nevada Takes Action was created because our community deserves protection from the devastating realities of sexual abuse, human trafficking, and exploitation. On November 19, 2025, during the Northern Nevada Takes Action Roundtable, leaders from law enforcement, education, healthcare, nonprofits, and local businesses came together with one shared purpose: to close the gaps that allow these crimes to persist. What began as a conversation became a movement—a united community collaborative committed to prevention, intervention, and survivor support. We exist because no single organization can fight this alone. Our “why” is clear: every child deserves safety, every family deserves peace of mind, and every community deserves freedom from abuse and trafficking.
